The information you provide to us will be held on CMPi computers that are based in the UK. CMPi  processes personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.  This Privacy Policy only relates to the Website service and does not extend to your use of the Internet outside of the Website.

Data Collection

What data do we collect?

The data we collect within the Website is necessary to process the online card payment correctly and to notify internal CMPi systems of the transaction. This includes your name, contact details, card payment details and delivery details. This is your personal information. Further data is also collected to confirm the amount of VAT (tax) that needs to be paid on each product/service within the transaction. Personal information does not include aggregated information that does not allow you to be identified.

We will collect, use or disclose your personal information if permitted by law or required to do so by law or where we believe such action is necessary in order to protect or defend us or other third parties against error, negligence, breach of contract, theft fraud and other illegal or harmful activity, to comply with our audit and security requirements, and to audit compliance with our corporate policies, procedures, legal and contractual obligations. Your personal card data will not be stored alongside your other personal data and will only be accessed for the purpose of processing refunds in a secure and controlled basis.

What do we do with it?

The personal information you provide within the Website is used as follows:

  • to provide to third parties in order for you to receive communications from them but only if you have consented during the registration process
  • to improve the Website and personalise your experience when you visit the Website 
  • to provide you with access to all parts of our Website and to supply the goods or services you have requested
  • to bill you and to contact you where necessary concerning your orders

Collection of information by third parties

We employ third party companies to process payments on our behalf. Card payments within the Website are processed through software provided by Verifone and your payment is authorised through a division of Lloyds TSB called Lloyds Cardnet.  Both have access to the personal data they require to perform their functions but may not use personal data for any other purposes and they must process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Verifone will not collect or store your personal data. Lloyds Cardnet will store your personal data and may transfer to, process and hold your personal data in countries within the European Economic Area and outside it in order to perform their duties. Both offer a secure environment for online card payments.

In addition, only your card details are shared with any third parties as is necessary to process your transaction. Examples of such third parties are financial institutions necessary to authorise and clear your card payment. Your information is not shared with any other third parties.  We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.  We may choose to do so in the future with trustworthy third parties but will not do so without your consent. 

Our commitment to security

We have taken all appropriate action to safeguard and prevent unauthorised access to personal data, to maintain data security and to ensure that the information we collect online is used only in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and for the purpose(s) outlined above. However, due to the open communication nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that communications between you and us, or information stored on our servers, will be free from unauthorised access by third parties.

Cookies
